DHF Welcomes Dáil Éireann Debate on Dental Services
The Dental Health Foundation welcomes the recent debate in Dáil Éireann on the current state of dental services in Ireland. We are encouraged to see oral health being discussed at a national level and commend all those who contributed to this important conversation.
Oral health is a vital component of overall health and wellbeing. Ensuring equitable access to timely, affordable, and preventative dental care must be a key priority for our healthcare system. In particular, we believe that greater emphasis on prevention and oral health education is essential to improving long-term outcomes and reducing the burden of dental disease.
Empowering individuals and communities with the knowledge and support to take care of their oral health from an early age can make a lasting impact. Investment in education, early intervention, and community-based programmes must go hand-in-hand with improvements to dental services.
The Foundation looks forward to supporting continued efforts to strengthen dental care in Ireland and to promote oral health as a central part of the public health agenda.
