The Dental Health Foundation is proud to support the work of those working in special care dentistry through its Annual Bursary Awards, which were presented at the Irish Society for Disability & Oral Health Annual Conference on June 20th 2014.
This year, Dr Mary Coleman, a member of our Board of Trustees, was delighted to present the following awards;
David Casey won the Annual Special Care Dental Professional Award for his project"Breaking through oral health barriers in Palliative care"
Dr Siobhan Stapleton won the Biennial Dental Health Foundation Travel Bursary for her research "What are the fears, thoughts, and barriers to oral health care for children with disabilities in Ireland? - A parents' perspective using focus groups and qualitative analysis."
Andrew Bartram won the Student/ Newly Qualified Professional Award for "Are there dental and medical characteristics of children with 22q11 syndrome that may impact on their oral health?"
Caoimhin Mac Giolla Phadraig won the Annual Special Care Dentistry Award for his work "What should dental services for people with disabilities be like? The results of an Irish Delphi Panel survey"
