Launch of the National Adult Literacy Agency's Cork Office Health & Literacy Project

On the 17th November 2001, Ms Deirdre Sadlier, Executive Director, Dental Health Foundation attended the launch of the National Adult Literacy Agency Cork Office and the Health and Literacy Project. Minister for Health and Children Mr Micheál Martin, T.D. formally launched the proceedings in the Rochestown Park Hotel, Cork.The Dental Health Foundation is a member of the Steering Committee for the National Adult Literacy Agency Health and Literacy Project. The aim of this project is to:Produce a commentary on some of the health promotion material that is available Establish the precise health issues and needs for a low literacy populationInform strategic policy making to address these issues andProduce a literacy pack which can be used by health promotion officers and literacy practitioners.In the photo at the top of the page, from left to right:
