Why join the OHPRG?
The 'Irish Link' is now 7 years old. It aims to foster the development of joint working and shared experiences in Oral Health Promotion both in the North and South of Ireland through being part of the well established UK Oral Health Promotion Research Group. Anyone with experience of and a special interest in Oral Health Promotion is very welcome to join e.g. health promoters, public health nurses. dieticians, GPs, speech and language therapists. Please note that because of the recessionary times that we are all experiencing we have decided to reduce our membership fee by €10. Fee is now €50 (£45)
The IDA is presenting a three day conference 6-8th October 2010 in Sligo and it is proposed that the OHPRG-Irish Link will present a one day programme at that Conference on the 7th October (All details and agenda to be sent to you later). This I hope will help to continue and promote the work of the OHPRG and we are delighted to have been given this opportunity to work in partnership with the IDA.
Our members, North and South will have the benefit of:-
- Membership of the UK OHPRG, with receipt of 'Oral Health Promotion' journal. This also includes 'Irish News' a regular contribution from the 'Irish Link'
- Membership of the 'Irish Link' with receipt of annual conference proceedings and membership of Regional Networks.
- Access to Dental Health Foundation sponsored Annual Bursary for OHP Research
- Access to the OHPRG-Irish Link Weblink set up on the Dental Health Foundation Website
(Official Launch at the Public Dental Surgeons' Seminar in Sligo)
One of the greatest benefits of membership is to know that you are part of a group with whom you can share your experiences and knowledge and from whom you can receive support in promoting Oral Health.
The group would like to increase membership and look forward to welcoming a wide range of Health & Social Care professionals.
I look forward to you joining us!
